They told me I was wasting my time

Just to get to the bottom of that pile

Family I once loved and people I trusted
Connection once alive and well now busted
Filled my head with lies until it rusted
Left me on my own to re-adjust it

So here’s what I come up with
Here’s my brand new plan
If your like me and you’re tired
Then come on raise your hand
Just like phoenixs
From the ashes
We gonna rise again

So come on all you misfits…form a line behind your king
I come here tonight with nuthin but a couple of songs to sing
I can do this by myself…and I have for years
But I think it would be much more fun
To sing some songs
With a couple of friends
For a little while
We let the world go hang
And from the ashes of this funeral life
We can rise again

You see that life…that’s the way it’s always been
You hear that sound…that’s the bells of freedom ringing
It doesn’t really feel yet like my own skin
But not livin out your dreams well that’s the only sin
Like adam raised a cain
And Jacob raised his ladder
I’m raising up my voice
For all that really matters
Just like phoenixs
from the ashes
We will rise again

Come on all you outcasts to feel the power that freedom brings
