lyrics

It’s All Good

As each day goes on I get a little more tired but no regrets
It’s a fine line like a Sunday drive up the Delaware river on the Pennsylvania side
We would drive all day up and back again passing general stores and country inns
Ducks crossing and laughing friends cruising up to No Hope looking for gems
Early summer days about 1 PM you get the Harley’s pass you coming round the bend
Wind blowing arms of steel can’t find the words for how I feel

Only thing now that I need to know is
How much longer this old road goes
I keep on walking though I don’t know why
Keep on walking til I reach the sky
Cause I know somewhere down the road a ways
There’s a place to wash my pain away
With the sun sinking low in the afternoon
I keep on singing this same old tune

Are you feeling this like I’m feeling you, you keep me straight you keep me true
Happier days were never had by a skinny chain smoking long haired lad
I had raccoon eyes and hippy tie dyes Sunday brunch champagne surprise
You and I were the only things we couldn’t mess up if we tried
You’re all sweet caress in you broomstick dress I guess I’m trying to confess
I’m writing this down so I don’t forget but I still aint found all the words just yet

Photographs aint memories and a kiss on the neck aint a summer breeze
A mini van aint a private jet sometimes you got to take what you can get
But it’s all good and I believe that you always wind up where you’re at
The past is gone it’s all been done and the present is the only thing worth working on
The future’s static so don’t panic cause there aint nobody hiding up in the attic
It’s just me and these words of mine trying to bring a little peace through my rhymes
When will it be said and done well you can’t never tell
But if I ever have to go just wish me well

Only thing now that I need to know is
How much longer this old road goes
I keep on walking though I don’t know why
Keep on walking til I reach the sky
Cause I know somewhere down the road a ways
There’s a place to wash my pain away
With the sun sinking low in the afternoon
I keep on singing this same old tune
